Q&A: Should I get some credit after paying twice as much?

I’ve rented cars with Budget twice this year. once back in Febuary and once in March. Since im 21 i expected to pay the over fees, and so i charged my USAA card.
So im going on leave in June and i will again have to rent a car, and on my bank website (USAA) they have a car rental link. After i clicked it, budget”s name popped up and they have a deal with my bank. 21-24 fees are waived and theres actually a 10% discount… none of this was offered to me when i talked to Budget or when i was standing at the counter and handed them my USAA card…. Shouldn’t i get some credit back towards my next rental?
usaa rental car discount.

Meghan:Um, no. You paid the price they offered you. You are not entitiled to a discount if you didn’t ask for it. Yes, it sucks, but now you know.

derrick k:Nope if i remember right you have to reserve it on the link provided, also those waivers are sometimes restricted to, “on orders with your orders allowing a rental car”, re-read the offer through the fine print.

Onick:Just like what Derrick has said, the rental company is not obligated to give you the discount and wave the fee for you. Your bank has an agreement with them, not you. You personally don’t have an agreement with the car rental company. So they are not obligated.

When you seen on the credit card company’s website allows you to book your car online from the credit card company’s website. When you book your rental car through their website, they get percentage of it. So that's why they wave the age 21-24 fees. The only way you can get the discount is by booking your car through the website. Not if you walk to their counter.
