My contract ends in a couple of days and I’m looking to upgrade my phone. I currently have a HTC desire. I was looking at getting a Samsung galaxy nexus. But I’m not sure if I should wait a few weeks/months till something more powerful comes out such as a new HTC or galaxy s3. What do you people think as I can’t decide? I know that I like the Android OS but I don’t want a completely out of date phone after my contract expires In probably 18 months.

id wait a bit because theres been lots of talk about quad core phones coming out soon, which would be much more powerful than the current dual core ones. also, the galaxy nexus has quite a few bugs at the moment so you should at least wait for them to be fixed

Go ahead. The galaxy nexus has 2 cores (my main gaming computer only has 2 cores), so there is practally no point for a 4 core (quad) phone, unless you plan to play games, while downloading and making a graphics intensive powerpoint/video. So when a new htc something comeout with quad cores it will be pointless. Also keep in mind it will cost more to buy. Also the galaxy nexus has a pure version of android. That means that every time google releases a new os your galaxy nexus will get it the day or the day after. With your quad core htc you may get it in a few months if your lucky. (It takes long because htc must make sure that the skin on top (called “Sense”) of the os will be capable, and then it has to get approval from carriers). It is more likely that the quad core htc will be more outdated than the Samsung Galaxy Nexus! So i think that this clarifies the subject clearly. SO i think that you should buy the Galaxy Nexus (it is predicted to launch on Version LTE on December 8, while Att/tmobile version is unknown, maybe a month later), or you can wait around May till the pointless quad core htc will come out!
