I have a PS3, DVR Cable box, and a DVD/VCR combo that all have HDMI outputs.

Not an expert on projectors but I’m delighted with this purchase. Fantastic picture (10 feet wide) onto painted wall.
I’m not a novice in the home theater projector arena as this is my 3rd projector in the 10 years or so that I’ve had one and I’ve helped others set up theirs as well. I’ve gone from a SD (standard definition) Sharp projector to a Panasonic High (Semi-high?) Def 720 projector. The Pany has been in use for about 6 years and in it’s time, was the best of the best for an LCD with 16:9 native LCD panels at what was then the best high def available at 1280X720 pixels. Contrast levels on the Pany were considered quite good at that time at about 1300:1. You lived with weak blacks and difficulty in viewing dark-lit scenes and, between careful calibration and using a very dark room, you got by and enjoyed the viewing experience. When DLP projectors came out, their biggest virtue over LCD was high contrast and at that time when DLP came into the scene, no LCD projector could match the contrast levels that DLP technology offered. Well, with now over 25 hours of use on my new Epson 8350, it is quite obvious that times and (LCD) technology have changed substantially for the better The Epson displays black levels that rival a good LCD TV.
Wooooow What a difference Picture to me was 10x better Colors popped off the screen and it was definately brighter I again watched hi def movie through uverse and it was phenomenal. Popped in mw3 on xbox 360 and again absolutely amazing. The blacks were very dark unlike the viewsonic which had a very light black compared to this. I can now also get my true 130 inch diagonal screen since the epson has easy to use lens shift for vertical and horizontal adjustment (way better than keystone). Super easy to place in my theater (all i had to do was make sure projector was flat and straight with screen). Can’t wait for my blu ray player. Even my young kids could quickly see the huge difference between the two projectors. Get it while its on sale and you won’t be disappointed. I am extremely picky and price conscientous when it comes to electronics and this is a no brainer after seeing it in action For any video game players you won’t be disappointed I was leary of input lag on video games however I haven’t noticed any major lag and fast paced first person shooters are very playable with no motion blurring
I was dead-set on getting the Panny 4000U until I realized how broke I was. Then the 8350 came out and I took notice. After reading many reviews, especially those that compared the 8350 with the 4000U, as well as others, I decided to give it a shot. Especially since I found it for $ 1,090 on Black Friday I’m hugely impressed w/ the pic quality, which is the bottom line for most people. The only thing I wish were a little better is the *true* contrast ratio. It’s very good, though, and probably the very best for this price range. I knew it would be a little less impressive than the Panny, but for about 1/2 the price, the 8350 is totally worth it. The average viewer may have a difficult time even telling the difference between the two.

I am extremely pleased with my purchase.
This projector offers only normal size 16:9 aspect ratio for HDMI and component inputs. I use the projector for watching TV with ATT, U-verse. The channel I usually watch shows pictures with reduced size. So, I want to zoom the pictures, but this projector does not zoom with HDMI connection. Panasonic projectors and a couple of my LCD TVs can zoom.
I think I got the most for my money so if you got the money and don’t care about 3d get the epson 8350 it’s a nice projector.
The brightness is more than adequate. The use I purchased it for was in a small church (less than 100 people with a very low ceiling and a side wall of windows). I installed at night – and the ‘cinema’ setting, or living room setting was stellar. We use the dynamic view in general, as it is the brightest, but for home use, the less intense, bulb and energy saving modes would be perfect. I will be buying one for myself when I need a new ‘tv’.
I slapped in my son’s 720p Winnie the Pooh movie and about once every 10-30 seconds, the screen became snowy white with static for a few seconds, and then it went away. Sometimes it would go snowy, then black for a few seconds and then it would catch up. Every time this happened, my 2-year old son would turn to me and say “Fix Daddy.” Which was followed closely with a sigh from myself.

This projector produces an excellent picture quality. With a 13ft distance it can produce a 120″ diagonal picture.

There is only 1 place – eBay
Unless you want to go out and hunt in your local town for a projector
agb90spruce
e-Bay, Craigslist, Kijiji, classified ads on A/V websites /fora, ….
That said, Sony projectors are OK, but tend to be expensive for what you get. Unless you really want a Sony for some reason you would probably be best to find what projectors are available then do some research re pros and cons before deciding.
